Cufflinks are usually worn by men and in some occasion
by women, to link the two sides of double sided cuffs on a dress shirt or
blouse for women. In the early times, these were only for the wealthy as it
were studded with gems and diamond stones.
But in the modern times almost all
men of all raise use different types of cufflinks for tuxedos and dress shirts.
Now it is normally worn at any occasion. Most inexpensive dress shirts have
been using buttons now for a long time.
Here is a short video from http://www.youtube.com/user/eHow showing how to use cufflinks on a French cuff.
